Mindfulness Based Tech Use Reduction

Does it seem that your phone is always in hand, or that you're uncomfortable without it? Do you scroll mindlessly on your phone only to realize that you're not using it for what you'd originally unlocked it to do? Perhaps you're tired of walking through the streets of Seattle, device in hand, and never meeting another person's gaze. Or going through entire meals without having tasted a bite or said a word to the person with you because your attention has been spent on clickbait or subreddits. Many of us in Seattle are on Mobile Phone Autopilot, and this group is an opportunity to step out of that mindset and learn to create and live more meaningful life moments.

This five-week group is designed to help people interested in changing the relationship with their mobile device. Using the science of mindfulness as it's foundation, this group enhances psychological flexibility, and improves the attention you pay to the values that drive your life.

  • Therapist: Jennie Ketcham Crooks, LSWAIC

  • Five Week Group: Monday 1/6/20 - 2/3/20 from 4:30-6:30pm

  • Total Cost: $400 (covers all required readings and snacks)

  • This group is intended for adult clients (18 years of age or older).

  • You can email info@seattleanxiety.com if you’d like more information

*Please note, while this is not a mobile device "abstinence" program - i.e. you don't have to give up your phone - the program will ask you to participate in intention setting, curious and nonjudgmental experimentation, and spend a few week nights (and one weekend) without your mobile device.
