Telehealth (tele-psychiatry and tele-psychology)
In addition to offering appointments at our offices in downtown Seattle, we also offer video appointments to clients located all over Washington State. When you’re checking our provider availability, you’ll be able to see what times are available for in-person and for telehealth.
Can I do a Telehealth appointment from anywhere?
No, you cannot. You must be in the state of Washington at the time of your appointment.
Healthcare providers are licensed at the state level and cannot see patients that are not physically in their state of licensure at the time of the appointment. You are responsible for making sure you are in WA State at the time of your appointment. If you are not, we will not be able to provide you with an appointment.
How are Telehealth sessions conducted?
Telehealth is typically conducted using secure online video chat technology. If you would like more information about therapy in a telehealth format, feel free to reach out to our office here.
IF I LIVE OUT OF STATE / OUT OF THE COUNTRY, CAN I UTILIZE YOUR SERVICES VIA TELEHEALTH?
Yes, as said above, you must be physically in Washington state for every visit.
For medication management services:
For US residents, prescriptions are sent to pharmacies in Washington state and only sent to pharmacies in other US states on a case by case basis (i.e. if someone is visiting a different state).
For those living outside of the country, prescriptions are usually filled by the person’s local prescriber (like a general practitioner) willing to prescribe off of a note written by our psychiatrist.
It is also good to consider that the monthly fee applies while you are under the doctor's care, and so it is not dependent upon if you have a session with the psychiatrist that month. To learn more about our billing policies, please go here.
Note that while it is okay to message your practitioner when outside of Washington, those messages do not act as placeholders for follow-up visits.
For those seeking testing:
Please note that there is a good chance you may need one or more in person sessions at our office. That is something determined during the screening call.
