Clinical Internship Program

*Please note: We are not currently accepting internship applications.

Our program will be on hold indefinitely as we work to restructure it.

We currently do not have an estimate for when we will relaunch our clinical internship program.

Thank you for your understanding.

We offer a clinical psychotherapy internship designed for high-achieving students wishing to supplement and enhance their educational experience and make a tangible impact in their community.

This program can be conducted either in-person or on a work-from-home basis.

Institutional Affiliations

Our internship program is affiliated with a number of academic institutions, including Seattle University, New York University, the University of Washington, and Northwestern. However, you don’t need to be a student at one of these schools to apply for one of our internship programs.

If you represent an academic institution and are interested in partnering with us, you can email our office manager at info@seattleanxiety.com

Clinical Psychotherapy Internship

We are a private group practice providing psychiatric, psychological, and counseling services to the greater Seattle area. Our primary focus is the treatment of anxiety and anxiety disorders.

Information for students seeking licensure

  • Our focus is ensuring that the internship is configured to meet the needs of those seeking licensure as clinical mental health counselors, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists in the State of Washington.

    • Applicants seeking licensure in another state or seeking to become licensed or board certified as a psychologist, ARNP/PMHNP, or physician/psychiatrist should check with their graduate program and relevant state/province/country regulatory agencies (e.g., the Washington State Department of Health) to make sure that our program will satisfy the necessary requirements.

Educational requirements

  • Applicants must be a current graduate student, in good standing, enrolled in a clinically focused master’s or doctoral degree program in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, clinical mental health counseling, clinical social work, marriage & family therapy, or equivalent.

After graduation

If the student begins professional clinical practice after their internship, either through employment at a clinic, through a private group practice, or through a solo private practice, they may have the opportunity to continue with some of their clients (should their clients want to keep seeing them).

Time commitment

  • Our clinical internship program has a minimum time commitment of 9 months at 20-24 hours/week.

  • Internships will begin in the Fall and run through the Spring or Summer.

  • Ideally applicants will be with us for 12 months, starting a year out from their graduation. This timeline allows us to ramp up more slowly and provide an enhanced learning experience.

General placement timeline

  • January - Feb: Accepting Applications

  • Feb - March: Interviews

  • March - April: Decisions
