We are very fortunate to have such a successful mental health practice and we don’t take the privileges and responsibilities that come with our success lightly. This is why we allocate a substantial percentage of our profits every year to support programs and organizations whose work aligns with our vision of healthier bodies, minds, and communities.

Planting Trees

We have funded the planting of more than 100,000 trees (offsetting over 1,500 years of individual carbon emissions).

We accomplish this by providing financial support for organizations such as Eden Reforestation Projects. They reduce extreme poverty globally and restore forests by providing reliable employment to local villagers to plant millions of trees every year in places like Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Madagascar, and Mozambique.

If you access care through Seattle Anxiety Specialists, you’re helping us to plant thousands of trees, meaningfully address extreme poverty, and heal the Earth.

Thank you.

Providing Meals

We have funded over 100,000 meals for families in need in Seattle.

We accomplish this by giving financial support to organizations such as the Rainier Valley Food Bank and Feeding America (and their local chapter Food Lifeline). These organizations work to reduce poverty at the local level through providing free access to healthy food as well as to social services and other community support.

If you access care through Seattle Anxiety Specialists, you’re helping us to provide thousands of meals and meaningfully address poverty in our community.

Thank you.

Evidence-Based Education

Seattle Anxiety Specialists provides financial support for organizations, such as OCD Washington, that promote training in evidence based psychotherapy. At a recent training event we sponsored, OCD Washington brought the BTTI (Behavioral Therapy Training Institute) to Seattle to train therapists in our community on cutting edge approaches to treating OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

OCD Washington is an affiliate of the International OCD Foundation, its mission is focused on helping sufferers of OCD access appropriate treatment, providing a community of support to sufferers and their families, as well as ensuring clinicians and researchers receive the best information and training available.

If you access care through Seattle Anxiety Specialists, you enable us to provide financial support to organizations like OCD Washington and improve the efficacy of therapy in our community.

Thank you.

Increasing Access

While there is much wealth and prosperity in our city, there are also many who struggle at the socioeconomic margins. The internship program at Seattle Anxiety Specialists focuses on providing low cost treatment to individuals that wouldn’t otherwise be able to access adequate mental health care. It offers graduate students, in their last year before graduation, the opportunity to apply what they’ve been learning while studying Psychology in school. They also receive excellent supervision and mentorship while in the program.

To learn more about this program, visit our internship page.

If you access care through Seattle Anxiety Specialists, you enable our internship program to thrive and help us to improve access to care in our community.

Thank you.

Social Justice

High quality mental health care trainings for therapists and other clinicians can be very expensive, often running into the thousands of dollars per attendee, and are mandated by the state department of health as continuing education requirements. For those working with a marginalized and socioeconomically disadvantaged clientele, this is a financial burden on them and can make some trainings financially inaccessible.

A further, but related, problem is the lack of trainings focused on working with people of color, led by people of color, and geared toward the perspectives of clinicians of color. This lack of diversity and representation of people of color in the mental health field contributes to the disparity in healthcare outcomes that has been affecting people of color for generations in our country.

It is in recognition of these issues that Seattle Anxiety Specialists is committed to partnering with local/grassroots/POC-led organizations like Nile’s Edge, helping them to bring trainings to the area for clinicians of color, led by psychologists of color, and focused on improving care for people of color.

If you access care through Seattle Anxiety Specialists, you are supporting this work and helping to improve equity in the mental health field.

Thank you.
